Jon T. Harris brings together a rare combination of frontline experience, legal expertise, military service, and literary craftsmanship. Over a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, he served in law enforcement with city, county, and federal agencies across Texas. His roles ranged from patrol officer and K9 handler to criminal investigator and supervisor, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of both street-level policing and organizational leadership.
An Army veteran, Harris later spent six years deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq as a high-risk security contractor, operating in some of the world’s most challenging and dangerous environments. In combat zones where decisions often carried life-or-death consequences, he developed a deep appreciation for discipline, judgment, and the realities of human behavior under extreme pressure.
Following his overseas service, Harris transitioned into prosecution in New Mexico, where he applied his extensive law enforcement, military, and operational experience to the courtroom.
